Being a sportsman and, simultaneously, a Huawei phone owner is not easy. Did you ever experience a situation where your route wasn’t saved or the Activy app shut down during the activity?
Unfortunately, the problem lies not within the Activy app, but within the system of Huawei phones. Sometimes, after 40-60 minutes, the operating system will shut down the app and leave our efforts unrecorded. However, that is not always the case.
Even famous sport’s apps, such as Strava or Endomondo, with tens of millions of users, can’t protect their users from predatory Huawei devices. Here, you can look through the solutions suggested by specialists working at dontkillmyapp -> https://dontkillmyapp.com/huawei ;)
Below, you can find a few solutions, that should work on most of the devices.
Solution 1 - changing phone settings
Depending on the version of the operating system, we recommend one of those four solutions:
- Go to „Settings” and find „Protected apps” and turn on the protection for Activy (mainly for Huawei P8 and P8 Lite).
- Go to „Settings” and find „Apps” (advanced settings) and authorize Activy’s settings considering battery usage, background activity or its activity when the screen is turned off. Each operating system has a slightly different settings screen. Below you’ll find the solutions:
Android 8 and 9: Settings -> Apps & notifications -> Apps -> Activy -> Battery -> Turning on -> turn off „Manage Automatically”, this will allow the app to work in the background
Android 6: Settings -> Apps & notifications -> Apps -> Activy -> Battery -> switch off „close apps after screen lock”
3. Search for the setting that allows you to ignore optimization or battery saving, and turn on notifications for Activy
4. Every time you use the app, click on the square (preview of operating apps) on the bottom bar. Drag the Activy app down and click on the lock icon.
Solution 2 - save your routes on another phone
If you have that option, you could use Activy on another phone. However, remember not to be logged into your Activy account on both phones.
